LAS VEGAS PRIDE CELEBRATES 2014 NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY WITH FAMILY FESTIVAL

Las Vegas, NV, September 23, 2014: National Coming Out Day (NCOD) promotes public awareness of gay, bisexual, lesbian and transgender rights and celebrates sexual diversity in our community. Many individuals choose this day to come out to their parents, friends, co-workers and themselves. Las Vegas PRIDE is very happy to be hosting this event for the Las Vegas LGBT Community. “We decided to host this event so that there would be an opportunity for youth and their families to participate and foster awareness” says Las Vegas PRIDE Executive Director, Ernie Yuen. “It’s a free event thanks to our generous sponsors and Alexis Park. Children and pets are welcome at this smoke-free event also. There will be plenty to eat and drink and tons of community entertainment.”

Las Vegas PRIDE has planned 3 days of events including 4 major events. Starting off on Friday, October 10th with the “Official NCOD Weekend Kick Off Party” at Piranha Nightclub. Attendees can expect great drink specials, hot go-go dancers and special surprises.

Saturday, October 11th is the main event: Las Vegas PRIDE’s NCOD Family Festival. The festival will be hosted at Alexis Park on the roof-top Parthenon Terrance. This will be the second time NCOD has been hosted at this location. The festival starts at 5pm and wraps up at about 11pm. “The view of the city from the Parthenon Terrance rooftop is amazing; truly a hidden gem. You’ll need to come to the Festival to see it for yourself,” said Las Vegas PRIDE President, Jorge Garcia-Solorio.

The Las Vegas PRIDE NCOD Family Festival has something for everybody including the kids. Back by popular demand, We Are Family and Las Vegas PRIDE will co-host a Kids Zone. “Both children and their parents loved the Kids Zone at PRIDE, so we have partnered with We Are Family once again to co-host this area at NCOD,” says Yuen. Families can expect free games, arts and crafts, face painting and balloons from 5 to 8pm.

There will be live entertainment with many special guest appearances during the festival. Mr. Ryan Stuart and Mr. Greg Chase, the hosts from this year’s PRIDE Parade, will also co-host NCOD this year. Look for local businesses and non-profit exhibitors and retail vendors. Alexis Park Hotel also provides ample on-site free parking.

Following the NCOD Festival on Saturday night is the “Official After Festival Dance Party” at Share Nightclub. “The staff at Share throw an amazing party, we hope all adult attendees at the festival will continue the celebration at Share Nightclub, you don’t want to miss this party… it will be a night to remember,” says Yuen.

Last but not least, and wrapping up the 3-day weekend on Sunday, October 12th is the “Official NCOD Closing Party” hosted at Liaison. Celebrate the close of the NCOD weekend on the Las Vegas Strip!
