LAS VEGAS PRIDE REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO A SAFE AND INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY
Organization Formally Distances Itself From Henderson Pride Amid Recent Concerns
Las Vegas, NV, April 28, 2026: It has come to the attention of Southern Nevada Association of PRIDE, Inc. (Las Vegas PRIDE) via social media and our community connections that there was an incident at a local bar. Las Vegas PRIDE is an independent organization and is not affiliated with Henderson Pride, or with Anthony Cortez. As most of our community knows, Las Vegas PRIDE has been in Southern Nevada for over 43 years, and is known as the Pride organization locally. Effective immediately, Las Vegas PRIDE is formally ending any past or perceived association with Henderson Pride.
In light of recent actions by Henderson Pride President Anthony Cortez, Las Vegas PRIDE will not participate in, support, or collaborate with Henderson Pride moving forward.
Our community already faces ongoing challenges from external forces, and it is essential that we also uphold accountability and respect within our own spaces. For these many years, Las Vegas PRIDE has remained committed to fostering safe, inclusive environments that uplift LGBTQIA+ voices, and in no way supports violence.
As we continue our mission together, we remain dedicated to promoting diversity, encouraging acceptance, protecting our community, and providing positive platforms for local artists and entertainers to thrive.
