PRIDE MONTH 2020

Las Vegas PRIDE stands in support of the people standing up for the rights, respect, and fair treatment that they have always deserved.

Las Vegas, Nevada, May 31, 2020: June 1, 2020 marks the beginning of what is now celebrated as PRIDE Month in the United States. This celebration marks the Stonewall / Christopher Street Riots in the streets of New York City, now 51 years ago. On those nights, people long oppressed and marginalized, people of color, lesbian, gay, trans, and “other” people, took a stand against oppressive systems and police brutality. These brave people brought light to issues affecting many Americans that the majority chose, in some cases to ignore, in some to actively support, and in many to see and remain silent.

The LGBT+ movement and PRIDE has grown and evolved over the 51 years since their origin – but – we are still and will always be fighting on the front lines of equal rights, respect, and protections under our laws.

Las Vegas PRIDE stands in support of the people standing up for the rights, respect, and fair treatment that they have always deserved.

We ask our community members to stay safe.

We commend our community members for speaking up.

We encourage our community to register and vote every chance you get.
