INTRODUCING MR LAS VEGAS PRIDE 2010

Andy Du Bois Named Mr. Las Vegas PRIDE 2010

Las Vegas, NV, February 18, 2010: After more than a year of dedication and volunteer work for the Southern Nevada Association of PRIDE, Inc. (SNAPI, Las Vegas PRIDE) Andy Du Bois was named Mr. Las Vegas PRIDE 2010. The title, which is earned, not competed for in a pageant, represents countless hours of volunteer work, dedication, and hard work. Applicants interested in holding the title of Mr. Las Vegas PRIDE must demonstrate their dedication to the organization before being considered a qualified candidate. Andy met and exceeded those qualifications.

Born in Aberdeen, Washington in 1978, Andy grew up in several small towns across the south western areas of Washington State. In 2007 Andy moved to Las Vegas and shortly thereafter began to get involved with Las Vegas PRIDE. In 2009 he traveled with Las Vegas PRIDE to represent the organization’s events in Phoenix, Arizona. Beginning his involvement with Las Vegas PRIDE in order to show his support of JewDi Vine, Miss Las Vegas PRIDE 2009, he soon became a valuable member of the PRIDE Parade Committee. After his extensive volunteer work at the 2009 PRIDE Celebration, Andy decided to increase his volunteer participation and began to travel with SNAPI attending many events as a representative of Las Vegas PRIDE include L.A. and Palm Springs PRIDE, NCOD, AFAN’s Black & White Party, HRC’s Annual Las Vegas Gala, and more. Moving to Las Vegas gave Andy the opportunity to meet great people and
become an integral part of the LGBT Community. Andy loves this community and is excited to be able to give even more of his time and commitment as Mr. Las Vegas PRIDE.

As Mr. Las Vegas PRIDE, Andy would like to help build a stronger LGBT Community through assisting with non‐profit fundraising efforts and in representing Las Vegas at out‐of‐state events. Andy feels that if he is able to assist even one LGBT person accept themselves and come out, his time and efforts have been worthwhile. The Southern Nevada Association of PRIDE is excited to welcome Andy Du Bois as our Mr. Las Vegas PRIDE 2010!
