The first Pride was a riot. Trans and gender-nonconforming individuals, people of color, and LGBT individuals in New York had had enough, and they stood up. They fought the Police and systems of oppression in the streets outside the bar “Stonewall Inn.” The insurrection continued for the next several nights. These uprisings made significant headlines and rippled throughout the globe, with similar fights happening in England and across the United States.

SIX The Musical

If I were to tell the story of King Henry VIII of England, it would most likely be a boring list of a few facts. It would be correct to say that the story, as told from the point of view of his wives, would be a much different and much more interesting story. Set it to hit music, award-winning costumes, and legendary talent, and you have SIX The Musical!

PRIDE OUTside Hikes Kraft Mountain Loop

The Kraft Mountain Loop trail is located in the Calico Basin community, just east of the entrance to the Red Rock National Park and visitor center (if you’re paying to go in that’s not where this hike is located). Wind your way past the Red Springs picnic area, all the way to the dead end at the base of Kraft Mountain and park in the parking lot.

PRIDE OUTside Hikes Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail

The Las Vegas PRIDE OUTside Hike program began in July 2015. Community members requested a new event – something LGBT+ focused, all-ages, not in a bar, free to attend, and fun! Brady McGill, then Secretary of the PRIDE Board, had a history of outdoor exploring and took on the project.

Letter from the President

As we approach Las Vegas PRIDE 2022, the road behind us is to tough to think about, the present is filled with pressure and uncertainty, and the future is still to be. Our theme this year, Beautiful Tomorrow, calls for us to take action. We must do something EVERY DAY to make tomorrow a better day for ourselves, and for others.

What an Event!

What makes a great Pride event? A grand parade, big entertainment, fun events, and activities? A social cause to support and advance? Who would a Pride ask for help or advice? While on the surface, a Pride event seems like any other festival or parade, there is nothing quite like Pride!

Proud Brits

The UK is and has been at the forefront of LGBTQ+ rights for a long time. We reached out to Emily Cloke, British Consul General for the Southwest US, to learn more about what the British Consulate is doing in this part of the country.
