DJ Lexto Creates a New Home for Queer Pop Culture at Substance

By Jake Naylor

Las Vegas nightlife favorite DJ Lexto is bringing a fresh wave of LGBTQIA+ nightlife to Substance with a new monthly event series designed to celebrate music, creativity and community.

The series launched with Never-Ending Brat, an event inspired by the current pop music renaissance and the artists who have become cultural touchstones within queer spaces. Featuring music from artists such as Charli XCX, Kesha, Slayyyter and other fan favorites, the night embraces the energy, freedom and self-expression that have long defined LGBTQIA+ nightlife.

For Lexto, the vision extends far beyond simply filling a dance floor.

“I’ve always believed Las Vegas deserves more spaces where people can connect through music, creativity and community,” he said. “The idea behind this series was to create events that feel immersive and intentional rather than just another night out.”

That vision found a natural home at Substance.

“Substance was the perfect fit because it already has a strong identity, an intimate atmosphere and a team that supports creative concepts,” Lexto explained. “It gave us the freedom to build something unique while still feeling welcoming and accessible.”

The summer series continues with Heated Rivalry in July and a Slayyyter Night in August, each taking place on the first Thursday of the month. While each event will feature its own theme, Lexto says attendees can expect much more than a typical club experience.

“Musically, we’ll be pulling inspiration from pop culture, dance music, throwback moments and current favorites, depending on the theme,” he said. “Visually, we’re treating each event like its own world, with themed décor, custom graphics, interactive moments and surprises throughout the night.”

The goal, he says, is to create an immersive experience where guests feel transported from the moment they arrive.

“We want people to feel like they’re stepping into an experience, not just walking into a club.”

As a DJ who regularly performs at some of Las Vegas’ most recognizable nightlife destinations, including Piranha, Marquee and Omnia, Lexto understands the power music has to bring people together. Through his partnership with Substance, he hopes to create an event series that makes a meaningful contribution to the city’s LGBTQIA+ community.

“I hope these events help create more opportunities for people to feel seen, celebrated and connected,” he said. “Las Vegas has an incredible LGBTQIA+ community, and I want these nights to be a place where people can express themselves freely, discover new artists and performers, and build meaningful connections.”

Lexto also emphasizes that community support is essential for keeping independent queer events alive and thriving. With affordable admission and open RSVPs, he hopes attendees will not only show up but also help spread the word.

“At the end of the day, it’s about creating memories, supporting local talent and continuing to push LGBTQIA+ nightlife forward in a positive and inclusive way.”

For those looking for a nightlife experience that blends music, pop culture and community, DJ Lexto’s new Substance series is poised to become one of the summer’s most exciting additions to Las Vegas’ queer nightlife scene. Visit substancelv.com for more info.
