Roz Hernandez: Bringing Sass, Sparkle, and Laughter to Las Vegas PRIDE
By Las Vegas PRIDE Magazine Staff
Las Vegas PRIDE is set to shine even brighter this year with the addition of acclaimed comedian Roz Hernandez as a stage emcee and entertainer. Known for her sharp wit, paranormal curiosity, and unapologetically queer perspective, Roz is a force on the comedy scene; one who brings equal parts laughter and empowerment to every stage she graces.
Roz’s career is as colorful as her comedy. A transgender Latina comic who first gained attention under the stage name Roz Drezfalez, she’s performed across the country, hosted her hit podcast Ghosted! by Roz Hernandez, and appeared on Hulu’s Living for the Dead, executive produced by Kristen Stewart. In 2024, Vulture named her one of the “Comedians You Should and Will Know,” cementing her as one of the most exciting voices in comedy today.

When asked how she describes her comedic style, Roz doesn’t hold back: “I’m a little sassy! It’s a very unique life I live because yes, I do have a podcast where I make fun of invisible dead people, and I did do a TV show where I would talk to invisible dead people, but on stage I mainly just joke about the living.”
Her ability to move between ghost stories, queer joy, and biting humor is exactly what makes Roz so beloved by audiences. She’s performed everywhere from Hollywood’s hottest clubs to gay cruises at sea, where she feels most at home.
“I love gay cruises, I perform on them a lot. Any time I get to be around crowds that are letting it all hang out and ready to have a silly gay time, I’m in heaven.”
Recognition from the comedy world has only underscored her impact.
“It’s nice any time the more mainstream comedy world acknowledges that I am a real comedian who has paid her dues,” Roz says. “Being trans/queer, I want queer audiences to know that I’m out here making us laugh. I might not be your comedic cup of tea, but I do agree that queer people should know about me and those of us entertainers and artists that are finding joy and humor in America in a time when many are struggling to smile.”
For Roz, representation isn’t about strategy, it’s about action.
“I just do it. We should all do whatever we want to do while we are here. Quit your dilly dallying. If you have dreams, go do ’em.”
And now, she’s bringing that spirit to Las Vegas PRIDE.
“I weirdly have not performed much in Vegas, so I am really just excited to see what the LGBTQ locals are all about. I wanna see feathers and sparkles, please!!!”
As emcee, Roz will keep the energy high, the laughter flowing, and the spirit of celebration alive. But she’s also quick to remind us that joy is more than entertainment, it’s resilience.
“It takes a lot of security and self-confidence to be able to laugh at yourself and your community. It takes strength to be one of us, so when we laugh at ourselves, it is a fun way to flex that. We all know that we need to fight and that there are powerful forces against us. However, we also need to embrace moments of joy. Especially unapologetic queer joy. Let’s not ever forget that we are fun people, even when the world doesn’t want us to have fun. And let’s take that attitude with us, even when PRIDE is over!”
With her trademark sass, infectious humor, and fearless authenticity, Roz Hernandez is sure to be one of the brightest stars of this year’s Las Vegas PRIDE Festival. Get ready, Vegas, the feathers and sparkles she’s hoping to see will only be matched by the glittering joy she’ll bring to the stage.
