National Transgender Awareness Week, held each November, is a vital period of reflection, support, and advocacy. It leads up to the Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) on November 20, a day set aside to memorialize those lost to violence stemming from transphobia. This week is an essential time for learning, community building, and taking action toward the rights and dignity of transgender individuals.

November 30th is the 16th anniversary of my accident. It made me see how fortunate I am and appreciate the wonderful gifts I DO have in my life more than ever before. To explain the significance of this accident, I need to tell you what happened earlier that year that impacted the accident.

BE YOU! was the theme for the 2024 Annual Palm Springs PRIDE – Festival and Parade November 3 – 4th in historical and fabulous Downtown Palm Springs, California. Las Vegas PRIDE Royalty and their lively contingent traveled West and were honored to be part of the amazing 3-day festival!
Change is Coming to Las Vegas
The National LGBTQ Task Force is the oldest LGBTQ+ advocacy organization in the United States. Known as “the LGBTQ voice of the progressive movement and the progressive voice of the LGBTQ movement,” The Task Force bridges grassroots activism and national advocacy, connects funders with innovative strategic leaders, and works tirelessly to build power, inspire action, and create transformative change.
Las Vegas PRIDE 2024 Brings Joy, Vibrancy, and Unity to 4th Street
The 2024 Las Vegas PRIDE Festival made history this year, marking the first time it was held along 4th Street in downtown Las Vegas. Attendees experienced a vibrant celebration filled with music, drag performances, interactive shows, and inclusive spaces that catered to all ages and interests, creating a diverse and welcoming environment for everyone who joined.
The Man I Never Knew: Grandpa Tutu
I never got to meet my grandpa, Oliver. He was a middle-school teacher in the Seattle area, loved his family, friends, and volunteering in his church. He passed away before I was born, from complications from AIDs on Thanksgiving Day, 1987. This poem is a tribute to my Grandpa Oliver and a reflection on how far we have come to create a world where Love Wins.

PRIDE OUTside Hikes Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail
The Las Vegas PRIDE OUTside Hike program began in July 2015. Community members requested a new event – something LGBT+ focused, all-ages, not in a bar, free to attend, and fun! Brady McGill, then Secretary of the PRIDE Board, had a history of outdoor exploring and took on the project.
