SPRING HAS SPRUNG and GONE! It lasted 2 days, and now we sweat with the onset of summer, just days after the Easter Bunny popped his carrot! Well, at least something is popping up between the lilies and the bushes! You cannot imagine the emails that I have been receiving! Last month, I even received an email from the STATE PRISON. He wanted my recipe for cherry pie……ALLEGEDLY. “TIME FOR T!”
As we travel back into Nye County for 2025, we will celebrate five amazing years of Pahrump PROUD! Originally the brainchild of Jim McCoy, immediate friends Craig Bohannon and James Davis jumped in to make the event one of the first annual National Pride month (June) celebrations in Pahrump Valley. This year, in conjunction with the Southern Nevada Association of PRIDE, Inc., Pahrump PROUD will become Pahrump PRIDE.
The vitality and livelihood of queer-based community groups in Southern Nevada is more important now than ever. The Southern Nevada Association of PRIDE Inc. is continually dedicated to the outreach and support of such groups, even though they are miles away from the bright lights in Las Vegas.
We were excited to spend an evening at the new Stubborn Seed Restaurant in The District at Resorts World, offering modern American cuisine. This is one of the latest additions to the resort and is well worth the time to enjoy a relaxed evening in a great establishment.
When I think of my experiences with sports, I think about the Arthritis Camp, located at the YMCA’s Camp Marston in San Diego County. I started going to this camp during my early teen years. When it was introduced to me, I remember thinking, “Some stupid camp for kids with arthritis…no thank you.”
