Dominic Pérignon: Redefining Visibility Through Travel, Storytelling, and Community

When Dominic Pérignon travels, he carries more than a suitcase. He carries visibility. For the Houston-born, Hollywood-based content creator, journalist, and advocate, each trip is both a test and a triumph. “Some of the standout challenges are simple things most people take for granted: using airport security, finding safe restrooms, or checking into a hotel without someone double-taking my ID,” he explains. Yet those moments of discomfort are balanced by affirmations: hotels that respect pronouns at check-in, campaigns that highlight trans representation, and chance encounters with other queer travelers.

“Visibility in travel is survival and joy rolled into one,” Dominic says. “If you know a destination is inclusive, that knowledge changes the entire trip: you’re not bracing yourself for confrontation, you’re actually present to experience the food, the culture, the adventure.”

It’s a perspective he brings to his work as both a storyteller and an advocate. Through social media, blogs, and video content, Dominic blends personal experience with urgent commentary. From breaking down anti-trans legislation like SB497 to spotlighting Pride celebrations across the country, his storytelling aims to inform and connect. “My goal is always to inform, but also to connect so whoever’s watching feels seen, supported, and less alone.”

That mission has already sparked life-changing inspiration. One of Dominic’s most rewarding moments came when a young trans man messaged him to say he was planning his first solo trip after watching Dominic’s travel content. “That’s when I realized this isn’t just about me documenting my own life; it’s about sparking possibility in someone else’s.”

For Dominic, community building begins with authentic representation. “It’s not about being flawless or inspirational 24/7,” he insists. “It’s about showing up as I am: messy, joyful, complicated, human.” That openness resonates widely. Parents have reached out to say his videos help them better understand their trans children. Others have leaned on his travel content for the courage to step outside their comfort zones.

In his view, media outlets like Las Vegas PRIDE Magazine play a vital role in this work. “Media are gate-openers. They decide whose stories get amplified. By platforming trans and queer creators, they normalize our existence for broader audiences, and that helps foster belonging.”

Dominic is also building something beyond his personal platform. His project Link With Pride has evolved from a personal content hub into a resource-rich site offering blogs on content creation, lifestyle, and travel, as well as tools to connect people with LGBTQ+ organizations and businesses. Alongside this, he and his fiancée are developing T-Time, a podcast born from his earlier series of the same name. “Two trans voices bringing our perspectives, humor, and lived experiences into the mix,” he says, describing the project as honest, real, and a little rebellious.

For Dominic, advocacy and creativity are inseparable. “Advocacy fuels the purpose, creativity fuels the joy,” he explains. His vision for the future includes global travel projects, bigger festival stages, and even policy conversations; always grounded in the personal storytelling that has become his signature.

Ultimately, Dominic hopes readers come away with a simple but powerful message: “Trans people exist everywhere, we travel everywhere, we create everywhere. Our stories aren’t a niche sidebar; they’re part of human history, part of our presence, and our future. And if someone reading this feels unseen or incapable, I hope they know they’re not just possible, they’re powerful.”
