This June marks the 10th anniversary of Obergefell v. Hodges, the landmark Supreme Court decision that granted nationwide marriage equality. How did LGBTQ+ families help shape this historical moment — and what can we learn from that victory to inform the work ahead?
Join Family Equality, Jim Obergefell, and a panel of policy experts and outspoken change-makers for a special virtual panel highlighting the impact of LGBTQ+ family voices in the movement for marriage equality. Together, we’ll discuss the state of marriage equality ten years later, the power of storytelling, and the role that everyday
LGBTQ+ families have played—and can continue to play—a significant role in making history.
Our panel includes:
- Frankie Frankeny, Creator/Director of the JustMarried project
- Emily Hecht-McGowan, Family Equality’s former Chief Policy Officer (2010 – 2017)
- Jim Obergefell, Family Equality board member and lead plaintiff in Obergefell v. Hodges
- Luce M. Remy, Family Equality’s Vice President of Public Policy
- Kinsey Woodson, Outspoken changemaker and individual named in Family Equality’s Voices of Children amicus brief

The PRIDE Community Mixer is designed to be lighthearted and fun, with no barriers to participation. The event is free and open to all ages, featuring a special cocktail menu, food options, and entertainment provided by Las Vegas PRIDE Royalty. Attendees will also have the chance to meet local community leaders and organizations, creating meaningful connections in a casual setting.
After the mixer, guests are invited to explore the rest of AREA15’s dining and entertainment offerings or stay for the much-loved PRIDE Family BINGO event, which continues in the same space until approximately 9 PM.

Join Las Vegas PRIDE & PACT Coalition for a Substance-Free PRIDE Night at Crystal Palace Rancho. Each admission includes skating for one person, two slices of pizza, and a juice box.

Camp Pride Tree
Camp Pride Tree provides LGBTQ+ youth and allies with all the benefits of a summer camp experience without the gender norms which typically accompany summer camp. Camp Pride Tree builds self-esteem, leadership skills, a sense of community, confidence, self-reliance, the opportunity to meet lifelong friends, escape the pressures of school for a while and a chance to be a kid! Pahrump PRIDE
Pahrump PRIDE
On June 29, 2025, Nye County will celebrate five amazing years of Pahrump PROUD! Originally the brainchild of Jim McCoy, immediate friends Craig Bohannon and James Davis jumped in to make the event one of the first annual National Pride month (June) celebrations in Pahrump Valley. This year, in conjunction with the Southern Nevada Association of PRIDE, Inc., Pahrump PROUD will become Pahrump PRIDE.
Pahrump PROUD has been established as a yearly Queer Event that is filled with community partners, artist, service providers, entertainers, and local social and performance groups. The Pahrump Nugget Hotel and Casino hosts two to three hundred guests on the last Sunday in June. The hotel staff and management are always delighted when the “PRIDERS” come back. This year’s event is set for June 29, 2025, from 10 am til 5 pm in the Event Space at the Nugget.
Pahrump PROUD is a day filled with thirty-plus vendors, local civic and social groups such as the Sin Sity Sisters, The Imperial Royal Sovereign Court, Nevada Gay Rodeo, Henderson Pride Festival, and so many others. The event is set up for a day of fun, family, and community. Vendor shopping and hourly entertainment are just some of the successes of the event.
