Right in the heart of Las Vegas, just north of downtown, the Gavin J. Goorjian Health Center is opening doors to something bigger than healthcare, it’s opening doors to community, connection, and hope. As an extension of the LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada, the Health Center was built on the belief that healthcare should be accessible, affirming, and rooted in compassion for every person who walks through its doors.

More than just a clinic, the Goorjian Health Center is a full-service health hub. Patients can access primary care, chronic disease treatment, reproductive health, HIV prevention and care, and medication management, all in one place. With same-day and telehealth options, and even a weekly mobile clinic that brings care directly into neighborhoods, the Center is breaking down barriers and making sure healthcare meets people where they are.

“Primary care is more than just writing prescriptions,” shares Dr. Jerry Cade, Chief Medical Director for The Center. “It’s about helping patients succeed in all areas of health, whether that’s managing chronic conditions like diabetes, or supporting recovery from challenges like addiction. We’re here for the long haul.”

Affordability and access are central to this mission. With sliding scale fees and financial assistance, no one is turned away, whether insured, underinsured, or uninsured. For the Center, equity in healthcare isn’t just an idea, it’s a practice lived every single day.

But what makes the Goorjian Health Center truly shine is the spirit inside. From the moment patients step in, they’re welcomed into an environment that feels safe, supportive, and full of respect. “This is a space where people know they belong,” says Dr. Leana Ramirez, The Center’s Chief Clinical Officer. “That sense of belonging is intentional, and it’s what sets us apart.”

Beyond its medical services, the Health Center is a vital link to the broader LGBTQ Center community. Patients can connect to food distribution programs, senior support, youth and family resources, and seasonal events that celebrate togetherness; like book fairs, trunk-or-treats, and holiday toy drives. It’s not just about treating symptoms; it’s about uplifting the whole person and building a healthier, more connected community.
