Emerging from the success of his last hit, “Bright Side,” which has been gaining traction on international platforms like MTV Latin America and LA-TV, pop trailblazer MkX launched into 2024 with his electrifying new single, “MAN ON A MISSION.” This single is the first of several planned releases for the year, showcasing MkX’s bold, autobiographical narrative that taps into his genre-bending sound and relentless drive.

Co-written by MkX alongside Myah Marie (Britney Spears, RuPaul) and Brandon Colbein (Zayn, Kehlani), “MAN ON A MISSION” blends electro-pop, hyperpop, and R&B influences with a high-energy beat that captures MkX’s unfiltered artistic journey. The single marks another high point in a career already punctuated by radio success and chart-topping singles on platforms like SiriusXM, iHeartRadio, and Mediabase Top 40. In a statement about the song, MkX reflects on his mission to remain authentic: “I’ve always had a very strong vision of my artistry, sonically and visually. I wanted to write a song that explains who I am and why I do what I do. Being an artist since I was eight has taught me patience, strength, and willpower. Over the years, people have tried to change me, to ‘straight-wash’ me. But I’m on a mission to express my individuality and show others how liberating it is to embrace who you truly are.”

The accompanying music video, directed by award-winning filmmaker Scott McCullough (known for his work with Prince), reflects the sleek, futuristic sound of the single. Described as dark and visually striking, the video weaves geometric shapes and bold fashion, incorporating unique pieces MkX scoured from indie designers in LA. Choreographed by Ian McKenzie (Lady Gaga), the video showcases MkX’s attention to detail and his relentless pursuit of creative excellence.

A true multi-talented artist, MkX not only writes and produces his own music but also designs his visual presentation, making his performances a full-sensory experience. His nearly 5 million independent streams are proof of his rising star status, built on a foundation of self-produced tracks and visually striking performances.

MkX’s journey began at a young age, teaching himself music production and visual effects while still in grade school. His early dedication to music led to significant opportunities, including opening for Ariana Grande and Christina Perri. A Berklee College of Music graduate, MkX draws inspiration from pop icons like Lady Gaga and Tinashe while adding his own futuristic flair.

In addition to his solo work, MkX has made waves as a writer and producer for other artists. He co-wrote and produced “Young & Wild” for the K-pop group TWICE, a track that appeared on their platinum-selling EP YES or YES.
