By Las Vegas PRIDE Magazine Staff

In a world where barriers often limit the potential of marginalized communities, Casey Xavier, Esq., stands tall as a trailblazer and champion of justice in Nevada. As the founder and trial lawyer of Xavier Injury Law, the state’s only gay, Black-owned personal injury law firm, Xavier’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable.

From a young age, Casey Xavier demonstrated a remarkable commitment to the community and making a positive impact. At 20, he broke records by being elected to the city council of his hometown, Opelousas, LA, becoming the youngest elected official in Louisiana’s history. The following year, he added another feather to his cap, serving as the vice-chair of elected officials for the Louisiana Democratic Party.

Driven by his passion for serving others, Xavier ventured across the United States before finding his home in Las Vegas, where he pursued a law degree. During his time at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law, he discovered his calling in personal injury law, recognizing its profound impact on people’s lives. For Xavier, personal injury law is not just a means of obtaining justice; it is the best means to help those whose lives have been disrupted, from lost income to compromised health.

At Xavier Injury Law, every client is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or circumstances. Casey Xavier is adamant that justice should be pursued for all clients, ensuring they are well-represented and cared for throughout the legal process. Every individual’s story matters to him, and he takes immense pride in being a beacon of hope for his clients.

Xavier’s identity as a gay and Black man has allowed him to forge profound connections with members of the LGBTQ+ and Black communities. Nevertheless, he emphasizes that his law firm extends its services to everyone, transcending perceived boundaries. He says, “We serve people of all communities, even those who consider themselves to have no community.” The core of Xavier’s approach lies in making clients feel valued, heard, and empowered.

The decision to establish Xavier Injury Law was a culmination of Xavier’s realization that he had more to offer than working within the constraints of others. Embracing his authentic self and seeking professional and creative freedom, he built a firm that could embody his vision of justice and inclusion. In doing so, he has shattered barriers and inspired others from marginalized backgrounds to follow their dreams.

As he sets his sights on the future, Xavier remains committed to further elevating his firm’s standing and impact. His “ferocious ambition” is a testament to his dedication to pursuing justice and improving his clients’ lives. He envisions Xavier Injury Law becoming a preeminent personal injury law firm in Nevada, continuing its transformative work in the community.

Beyond his legal practice, Casey Xavier encourages others to find their purpose and strive for success. He believes embracing one’s authentic self is critical to unlocking true potential and making a difference. His journey is a testament to the power of determination, resilience, and a deep-rooted commitment to creating positive change.
