Nenette Agulto

Vice President, CAPI
San Diego Pride

Nenette Agulto is the newest member of the CAPI Board and was voted in as Vice President in 2016. She is a member of InterPride’s Human Rights Committee and is currently serving as a Board member of San Diego Pride. She is currently the Board and Diversity Development Chair responsible for recruiting new board members and setting up training for the board. Nenette has 20 years’ experience in the corporate world working in Information Technology and 10 years as an entrepreneur. She’s fortunate to be a San Diego native and raised in a very diverse community. She’s dedicated in ensuring our community is present, our voices are heard and there is inclusion.
Chad Ballard

Chad Ballard is a graduate of Texas A&M University, has twenty-two successful years in the insurance industry, has been involved with Pride organizations since 2000 and is Vice President of Casswood Insurance Agency.

In 2002 Chad attended his first InterPride Conference in San Francisco, became affiliated with Casswood and in 2005 accepted a career opportunity in their California office. He immediately became involved in the Palm Springs community joining the Desert Business Association and serving on the Board. Chad was recognized as Board Member of the Year in 2008, served as President 2011-2013 and was honored to be named Business Person of the Year in 2015.

Integrity, honesty, passion and respect are the guiding principles and cornerstones to Chad’s professional and personal life. He is proud to be employed by the largest gay owned and operated insurance agency in the United States. Casswood has been insuring Pride events for over 30 years and insure 90% of the Pride events in the U.S. Casswood has been administering the InterPride Insurance Program since 1994, participating and sponsoring the regional conferences and the InterPride AGM.

In his free time, Chad enjoys working out, running, playing golf, traveling, spending time with family and friends and sharing life’s adventures with his husband of twenty-one years, their dog Lexi and their cat Linus.

Richard Bell

President,
Santa Fe Pride

Richard Brethour-Bell President of the Santa Fe Human Rights Alliance.  He is currently the Region 3 Director for InterPride.  He is Co-chair of World Pride Madrid 2017.  As president of Santa Fe Pride, Richard helped to organize the 2014 CAPI Conference in Santa Fe, NM.  He is also a board member with Equality New Mexico (EQNM), one of the organizations that helped bring marriage equality to the state.  He is a business owner who has studied psychology, sociology, and anthropology.  Richard is currently pursuing a Master’s of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico.

Brenda Cloca

VP of Parade, Long Beach Pride
Align Productions

Born and raised in Long Beach, California. Brenda grew a passion to event planning and inspiring others when she began her work in producing family events for the City of Long Beach.  Brenda has continued her work with Align Productions helped successfully produce the fifth Annual Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Parade.  In addition, her work includes helping produce the Martin Luther King Parade in Long Beach and the New Year Cambodian Parade in Long Beach. She is honored to be part of Align Productions as she believes in the vision of the giving back to the community through volunteering and creating standards of excellence. She is ecstatic and thrilled to have the opportunity to share all her knowledge with you.

Align Productions was created by former Long Beach Gay Pride member, Tonya Martin. The company has been the event production for the Annual Long Beach Gay Pride Parade for four years. Making the parade one of the top ten largest parades in California and voted number one in Orange County.

Patty Coaley

Executive Leadership Facilitator,

Patty Coaley has more than 20 years of experience in the gaming industry, where her career spanned from marketing executive to leadership development facilitator. She joined MGM Resorts in 1993, first serving in multiple marketing roles, including Director of Marketing at Excalibur Hotel & Casino.

Her most recent position at MGM Resorts was Executive Director of Diversity & Inclusion Development. While serving in this position, Patty was the primary creative force in the development of the musical production Inspiring Our World, MGM Resort’s first-ever employee show aimed at educating all 62,000 employees on the company’s mission and core values, as well as its culture of diversity, philanthropy, and sustainability.

Before working in the gaming industry, Patty was a performer on the Las Vegas Strip as a cast member in the long-running production show, Jubilee!.  During her time as a dancer, Patty worked closely with the non-profit organization, Golden Rainbow, which provides housing and financial assistance for persons living with HIV/AIDS in Southern Nevada, as the Ribbon of Life co-director in 1990-1993.

Patty received the Great Women of Gaming Proven Leader Award by Casino Enterprise Management magazine in 2009. She is a Master Graduate of Rapport Leadership International and is a certified facilitator of Franklin Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” 3-Day Signature Program and DiSC© Profile.

Patty grew up in Las Vegas, where she attend attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas, earning her a B.A. in Communications Studies with an emphasis in Public Relations and a M.A. in Communications Studies with an emphasis in Mass Media Research.  Currently, Patty is a doctoral student pursuing a Ph.D. in Global Leadership and Change at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

Ron deHarte

Palm Springs Pride

Ron deHarte – serves as the President of Greater Palm Springs Pride and has been a Pride organizer since 2005. Prior to being elected as Secretary, he served three terms as the InterPride Region 1 Regional Director. He has been actively involved in the LGBT community for nearly sixteen years including currently serving as a commissioner for the City of Palm Springs Human Rights Commission and as a member of the Palm Springs Police Chief’s LGBT Advisory board. He’s been the President of Palm Springs Pride since 2010 and previously served as Executive Director of San Diego Pride. He is the founder and Chair of the Coachella Valley Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast Coalition and served on the inaugural San Diego Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast Committee. He also serves as Secretary on the board of directors for InterPride. Ron was recognized as the 2015 Outstanding Community Service Leader by the Palm Springs Desert Business Association, International Grand Marshal of the Tijuana Pride parade 2007 and as the International Friend of the Year 2012.  When he’s not advocating for equal rights, Ron’s decades long background in planning, operations, management and large-scale event production is put to good use. He’s a father of two boys and lives with his partner of eighteen years.

Michael Goodnow is the current President of the Kitsap Pride Network and Region 2 Director for Interpride. He earned a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University. He is currently full time staff at Brandman University, part of the Chapman University System. He lives in the Seattle area where he has been involved with his local LGBT for almost 20 years; he has served as a board member for Kitsap Pride, worked as Executive Director of the local AIDS foundation and Development Director of a hospice agency.

James has been a part of Las Vegas Pride since 2003. Over the past 14 year he has served as a board member, Vice President, advisor and had the privilege to serve as President of the organization in 2003/2004 and is the current President.

James has lived in Las Vegas for the past 24 years. He relocated to Vegas to open the MGM Grand and has worked for MGM Resorts International since 1993 in various roles at MGM Grand and for the past 15 years at New York New York Hotel & Casino. He currently is the Director of Hotel Operations.

James also had the honor and privilege to serve as a Nevada State Assemblyman in the Nevada Legislature in 2013/2014. This was another opportunity for James to represent his community and state as a Servant Leader.

Paul has been the President of Austin PRIDE for the past 6 years and has overseen Austin PRIDE’s growth from 15,000 in attendance in 2011 to 350,000 in attendance in 2016. Paul is currently a Region 3 Director for InterPride and is working to open Austin’s LGBTQ Community Center. In his professional life, Paul has been a Realtor for 15 years and just celebrated 18 years with his husband, Dustin.
Yavanne Jaramillo

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado and moved to Taos 20 years ago to pursue her first love, Art.  Yavanne worked as a stainless steel pipe welder in Denver for 20 + years and also had her own janitorial business for 18 years. She has been involved in Taos Pride Inc. going on 8 years and have been the President for the past 3.

Yavanne have been the coach and local coordinator for Taos Special Olympics for almost 10 years. Something recently very exciting happened, Yavanne became a foster parent to a young lady with Autism (who is also one of Yavanne’s Special Olympic athletes).

Shannon Lank

Phoenix Pride

Shannon is currently the President of CAPI, and a member of the Phoenix Pride Team.  She has worked within the LGBTQ community on a volunteer basis for the past 17 years after getting involved with Boston Pride in 2000.  Professionally she is a full time faculty member Arizona State University working exclusively within University College and the Academic Success Programs.  She enables both freshmen and upperclassmen alike to reach their full potential no matter where they are on the academic spectrum.  To further her goal of academic success Shannon recently started a Doctoral program in Education and Innovation.

Jannay Lima

Originally from Brazil, Jannay Lima made Long Beach her home away from home. She has been an active member of the LGBT community as a LGBT advocate, the Co-Producer of LB Festival Gay Latino, and member LB Pride Parade Committee. Jannay recently got elected Ms. Long Beach Gay Pride 2016 by the Imperial court for raising money for non-profit Organization around the city.

Professionally, Jannay is the Chief Strategy Officer for iZone Marketing and Technology Solutions. Jannay is a Senior IT Professional with extensive experience in digital marketing, IT projects, operations, and process management. Utilizes senior level management experience gained as an employee of several T1 companies followed by many years of consulting experience to help clients successfully meet the challenges of today’s fast-paced and demanding IT environment.

Blue was born and raised in Chicago, and enlisted in the Unites States Marine Corp in June of 1993. HE served 13 years, and was discharged under don’t ask don’t tell in 2005. After living in San Antonio Texas for a few years, he moved to San Diego to go to school where he got his bachelor’s degree in LGBT studies at San Diego state university, and his masters in nonprofit leadership form University of San Diego. He’s been a transgender and civil rights activist for the last 10 years, and has helped change and write bills into law in California directly impacting the transgender and gender non-conforming community in California. He moved to Las Vegas in April of 2016 for his current job t the LGBT center of Southern Nevada as the Transgender Program Manager.  Blue has served on the board of San Diego Pride, The Imperial Court of San Diego, and has started 3 non profits. He lives here with his husband, and 3 dogs, and baby due this spring!

Denise Newman

Denise Newman is the current President of Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride, Inc. She joined the non-profit organization in 2013 as an Associate. She was quickly recognized for her business acumen and was
elected as co-president with Bob Crow the remaining active founder. Ms. Newman is not your typical paper-pushing executive. She assumes an active role in the annual Long Beach Pride festival. Ms. Newman is the primary contact for the security detail and is the City Liaison whose duties involve working with the local police, fire departments, ABC, City Council members as well as various community leaders.

Robert Peraza

Robbie Peraza earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Marketing Major) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2008. He also holds Certificates in Human Resources, Non-Profit Management, Mediation, and Grantwriting from UNLV. In 2007, Robbie began attending The Center’s Youth program and volunteering with Vegas Mpowerment Project, assisting with events, facilitating Mpowerment meetings, and acting as volunteer outreach chair. He joined the staff as Outreach Coordinator in 2012. Passionate about HIV/STI prevention and safer sex education, Robbie coordinated Mpowerment’s social media, and volunteer outreach team. In 2015, Robbie became Youth Services Manager, overseeing Qvolution LGBTQ Youth Program. Unemployment, housing insecurity, and health disparities among youth inform his strategies.

Holly Reese

Holly Reese created and manages the successful ACT III program, which provides services for 50+ LGBTQ persons at The Center in Las Vegas.  Reese also engages in diversity and inclusion trainings for organizations across the State of Nevada. She is currently helping to create the Center Advocacy Network in Henderson by forming partnerships and advocacy training for agencies that provide services to victims of crime to help develop safe, culturally inclusive services. In her free time, Reese loves spending time with her wife also named Holly, and new grand-baby, as well as their two quirky but lovable dogs.

Ernie Yuen

Ernie Yuen most of his close friends call him “Pineapple” has been with Las Vegas Pride since 2003, holding the position of Vice President or President during the past 11 years.

Ernie’s professional career in Food and Beverage, Restaurant/Night Club Management and also a Corporate Trainer for a famous restaurant chain, Cheesecake Factory, mixed in with Catering Management and Event Planning with 11+years of community service made Ernie the perfect candidate for Executive Director for Las Vegas Pride when the Board of Director decided to hire a full time employee for the organization. Ernie also is in charge of Corporate Sponsorship, Editor of Las Vegas PRIDE Magazine, Marketing Chair and has been Parade Chair since the first day he started with Las Vegas Pride 13 years ago. Ernie is currently the Treasure for CAPI and Regional 1 Director for InterPride

Ernie’s passion for Parades, float building and anything shinny keeps him very busy with costume design, holiday home décor and arts and crafts. Ernie enjoys teaching and sharing. Knowledge is power, it’s always refreshing to see new and young talent emerge from our community. We need new ideas and change to keeps things fresh.
