Battlelines are forming across the United States as anti-LGBTQ+ hate groups and politicians are pushing to eliminate our community’s rights and our ability to control our own bodies. But this year in Nevada, it was a different story.
I had the opportunity to sit down with Sy Bernabei, the current director of operations for the nonprofit, Gender Justice Nevada. It was a beautiful day when I strolled into the office space on the 2nd floor of the New Orleans Square building.
Don’t assume a couple is heterosexual just because of their gender expression. It could be someone and their trans partner, or both could be trans, gender non-conforming, or non-binary. They may be queer, unlabeled, questioning, or identify as a straight couple.
Gender Justice Nevada was founded in 2011. They champion the healing, dignity and just for LGBTQ+ people including transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, intersex and other gender diverse people.
