Annual PRIDE Night Parade Awards

All contingents participating in the annual Las Vegas PRIDE Night Parade are judged by a panel of celebrity guest judges from the Las Vegas community as their contingent passes the parade grandstand. Award recipients are announced from the PRIDE Festival Cox Main Stage the following day.

Occurs at Parade Grandstand in the following categories:

Originality - 1 to 10
Concept of overall unit (homemade vs. store bought)

Presentation - 1 to 10
Overall visual appeal

Showmanship - 1 to 10
Group unity, smiling, working the crowd, having fun

Use of Lights - 1 to 10
Effective use of lights

Rainbow Award (PRIDE) - 1 to 10
Best use of rainbow colors - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple

Drag it Out - 1 to 10
Drag Queens & Kings

 

Overall Impression - 1 to 10

The "WOW" Factor

Award winners will be announced on the PRIDE Festival Cox Main Stage the day following the parade, at 3:00 p.m.

Meet The Judges


Larry Edwards

Female Illusionist

International legendary celebrity impersonator Larry Edwards is an entertainer's entertainer! Also known as Hot Chocolate, Larry's career has afforded him the opportunity to be featured on such programs as "Entertainment Tonight” and "Donahue". Larry says the highlight of his career was when he was chosen to make a cameo appearance in the academy award nominated movie "What's Love Got To Do With it" The Tina Turner Story. He also appeared in the movie Miss Congeniality 2 starring Sandra Bullock.

Larry Edwards stars nightly as the illusion of Tina Turner & Beyonce in Frank Marino's DIVAS Las Vegas (the longest continuously running show in Las Vegas - 25 years) at the Imperial Palace at 10pm.



Dustin Carlson

Afternoon Host, Creative Director & Assistant Program Director for X1075

Dustin is the Afternoon Host, Creative Director and Assistant Program Director for X1075, Vegas' Rock Alternative. Originally from a small town in Washington State he made his way to Las Vegas 7 years ago and hasn't looked back since. In his spare time he enjoys being active with friends, dancing at the club, snowboarding and tries to get his station involved in the community whenever possible. Dustin likes meat, broccoli and in case you want to buy him a drink, get him something with Vodka. Or a shot of Tequila.



Jennifer Warner

Female Illusionist

Jennifer Warner resides in Virginia Beach, Va. Known on the National Pageantry Circuit for her amazing talent, good looks, and supportive attitude, she can be spotted at almost every National Pageant whether it be in Hawaii, Chicago, or Texas supporting all the contestants and promoters. She has competed a number of times for different systems with her pageant titles including; Miss Gay Virginia, Miss South Carolina Continental, and Miss Virginia World, Miss Metropolitan Continental, Miss Metropolitan Continental Elite, Miss Maryland USofA, as well as her various bar titles including Miss Godfreys, Miss Legends, Miss Bourbon Street Winston Salem NC, and The Most Beautiful Award Winner at both Miss National and Miss Gay USofA Competitions. Not only is Jennifer’s heart in pageantry and performance, but has a driven mission for fundraising as well and has chosen to use her popularity and reputation for numerous charitable causes. Actively working with various AIDS charities, she has hosted the Adam Wayne’s annual fashion shows in the past which raises money for AIDS/HIV awareness for Access AIDS Care Nationwide, and has also performed in/hosted a multitude of other charitable events. We are very honored and excited to have Jennifer Warner as our first ever Miss Gay United States ICON 2012
